Spec sheet study

Chinese tea · spec sheet

a spec sheet instead of a shop window

Graph paper, crosshairs, orange markers, mono rows. Each tea carries the same fields a piece of running gear would: origin, process, form, weight, code.

Why it looks like this

Performance goods are sold with measurements, and tea holds up under that treatment better than most products: leaf, origin, process, form, weight. So the shop is built as a spec sheet, with graph paper under the leaf, crosshairs where a lab sheet puts registration marks, and a single orange marker showing where the reading starts. The grey is deliberately cool, so the brown of the leaf stays the warmest thing on screen. The spec-panel grammar comes from sportswear layouts New Balance made familiar; this is an independent study of it, with no connection to the company. Every number printed here is one we can stand behind.
